What is Ability Project?
Ability Project is a ministry serving people with physical and intellectual disabilities. There are currently 61 million people in America who have a disability. That means about one in every four people has a disability and the majority live below poverty level. Out of those 61 million people, eighty percent do not attend church. Our purpose is to help everyone to know & understand their purpose in Jesus Christ.
Our Ministry Goals:
1. Bring awareness to God’s people about the disability community
2. Start up church services for those with disabilities in other communities
3. Train disability leaders/pastors
4. Promote Camp Ability, a time of refreshing for those with disabilities
Our Core Values:
INCLUSION
All people should be valued, treated with respect and accepted into the body of Christ.
The eye cannot say to the hand, "I don't need you!" 1 Corinthians 12:21
EVANGELIZE
To bring everyone, including people with a disability to the saving knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ!
"By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." Matthew 28:19, John 13:35
DISCIPLESHIP
Give opportunity for people with disabilities to learn God's word; giving each individual an opportunity to discover their God-given abilities and to exercise these gifts in the community.
Ephesians 4:8-16
SERVING
Jesus says in Matthew 20:28, "I did not come to be served, but to serve others." It is important to 'wash' one another's feet as Christ Jesus did. John 13:14,15
CHRIST CENTERED
Recognizing the value of God's word in everyday living by following Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Proclaiming that, "Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." John 14:6
